Fire Danger Rating Drop in Kamloops Fire Centre
That weekend rain and cooler temperatures have brought the fire danger rating down in our area, but it has not stopped a series of wildfires burning in the North Okanagan.
BC Wildfire Service spokesperson Marla Catherall says a substantial force has been on the lines today at the Harris Creek wildfire, southeast of Lumby.
“We have 92 on Harris Creek, 60 of which are from the Canadian Armed Forces, and we have 10 pieces of heavy equipment,” says Marla Catherall of the BC Wildfire Service. “With all of our resources on the Monashee Complex (wildfires), we just have to …they are being shared amongst all the fires.”
Another 27 are fighting the Woodward Creek fire north of Cherryville.
