Fleming says when the petition goes out the district will try to be as specific as possible as what it is going to cost residents.

“So that’s hopefully gonna be on the petition, so we’re gonna have to have examples of what, say a residential user would be paying, what a commercial property would be using and whether that’s on an acreage basis or on a use basis, we haven’t quite determined.

The total cost of the project is almost 37 million dollars, with much of it intended to be paid for through provincial and federal grants.

The Okanagan Basin Water Board has also agreed to put in 5.9 million dollars, while Spallumcheen’s share comes to one and a half million.
