Update: Police Converge on Drug House

RCMP have made arrests and seized drugs at a Vernon home labelled as a problem premise.

Four people were arrested during the operation Tuesday afternoon at the site police call a suspected drug house being used to sell drugs on 32nd Street at 39th Avenue, along the highway through the city.

“The search resulted in the seizure of large quantities of what police believe to be methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl along with Canadian currency and other items related to drug trafficking,” says Sgt David Evans of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP Targeted Policing Unit.

Evans says the residence where the warrant was executed, was identified as a problem premise being used to traffic street level quantities of drugs.

“Our efforts will continue to disrupt activities at this location until the illegal activity ceases.”

The four people arrested were released from custody while the police continue its investigation and considers charges.

People were wondering what was going on during a police incident that could be seen by passing motorists on the highway in Vernon.

We had reports of multiple police vehicles at a site on 32nd Street at 39th Avenue near the 7-Eleven.

Cst. Kelly Brett says the RCMP Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in that area around 3 pm.

“Four people currently in custody for drug related offences, and have been transported back to the detachment for processing,” Brett told Beach Radio News.

Brett says further details will be released Wednesday.
