Area Restriction in Place for Placer Lake Wildfire

Effective noon, Saturday, July 28, 2018, there will be an area restriction order for Crown land in the vicinity of the Placer Lake to protect public safety and the safety of firefighting personnel.

The restriction will remain until noon on Sept. 15, 2018, or when the order is otherwise rescinded.

This order applies to Crown land within the geographic boundaries as shown on the map posted online: http://ow.ly/psS730l9Wf9

Under this order, and section 11(2) of the Wildfire Act, a person must not remain in or enter the restricted area without the prior written authorization of an official designated for the purposes of the Wildfire Act, unless the person:`

Enters the area only in the course of:

(a) Traveling to or from his or her primary residence, that is not under an evacuation order;

(b) Traveling to or from leased property for the purposes of accessing a secondary residence or recreational property, that is not under an evacuation order;

(c) Traveling as a person acting in an official capacity; or

(d) Traveling for the purpose of supporting wildfire suppression activities.
