Update: Shooting Suspect Arrested At Beach

A man charged with attempted murder who was recently arrested in Vernon, will appear in court this week.

31 year old Tyson Cole will be in provincial court Thursday for a bail hearing.

Cole is accused in a May 7th incident outside a Vernon shopping complex, across from Seaton School, where a 21 year old man in car was shot and injured in what police called a targeted incident.

Cole was arrested last Thursday at Kin Beach after a short foot chase with police.

Vernon RCMP have taken a man wanted for attempted murder into custody.

Police say Tyson Cole was apprehended at Kin Beach after a short foot chase Thursday.

“At the time of the arrest, the beach was sparse of people and the responding officers did a great job at apprehending the male without further incident,” says Cst. Kelly Brett.

The 31 year old Cole was wanted for attempted murder and firearm offences dating back to May 7 when a 21 year old man was shot and injured while in a car in a shopping complex parking lot on 33rd Street.

Police called the incident targeted at the time.
