Investigation Underway Into Vernon Mudslide

Residents of a Vernon condo complex would like to know how a dry hillside during the hottest days of the year can give way, sending tons of mud, rocks and debris down onto their property.

That happened Tuesday night at the Mandalay Condos on Okanagan Landing Road across from the Vernon Yacht Club.

The slide poured into the swimming pool area, where two women were and were lucky to escape without serious injury.

Several people are reported to have been there minutes before.
