Vernon Tackles Opiod Crisis With Action Team
Vernon is getting its plan ready to address the opioid crisis.
The City is getting provincial funding of 100-thousand dollars to set- up a community action team, starting with a communications plan.
Annette Sharkey from the Social Planning Council says the purpose is to reduce the number of overdose deaths.
“I just needed to pause for a minute and repeat that. This is the first time I’ve written a grant where the major goal was to stop people from dying in our community.”
