Search Turned Over to RCMP Dive Team

Vernon Search and Rescue are standing down for now in the search on Mabel Lake for 58 year old John Keeley.

The search for the popular Math instructor at Vernon Secondary, has been turned over to RCMP Dive Team,
but not before an extensive search by both RCMP and Vernon Search and Rescue.

Pete Wise Search Manager told Beach Radio News that on scene 3 SAR teams were on the water, RCMP had their boat, dog team and a helicopter, as well as a fixed wing aircraft.

RCMP say an underwater recovery team is in the area. Wise says Search and Rescue are available to assist on a moment’s notice.
