Local realtors held their 17th annual Pumpkin Patch Day earlier this month in support of wildfire relief efforts.

RE/MAX Vernon Salt Fowler held their event at the Pumpkin Patch in Spallumcheen October 3, which saw some outbuildings lost in the Bradley Creek fire over the summer, though owner’s home and pumpkin patch was spared.

The latest Pumpkin Patch Day raised a combined $1,605.60 for the North Okanagan Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund.

“We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day at the Pumpkin Patch, and once again, the generosity of our community was wonderful,” RE/MAX Vernon Salt Fowler co-founder, Lisa Salt, said.

“After seeing how close the Bradley Creek wildfire came to destroying this special place—and the devastating losses experienced by others in the surrounding area—supporting local wildfire relief was especially meaningful to all of us this year.”

The event in support of those affected by local wildfires saw clients, friends and local families pick pumpkins, enjoy food and treats, and take part in raffles.

“This is one of our favourite events of the year,” Salt added.

“After 17 years, Pumpkin Patch Day has become a tradition that so many families look forward to, and it’s something our entire team genuinely enjoys hosting. It’s our opportunity to say thank you to the people who support us throughout the year.”
