Kelowna students can vote on campus Wednesday

Kelowna voters will have another opportunity to cast their ballots in the upcoming municipal election Wednesday, with advance voting stations opening at Okanagan College and U-B-C Okanagan.

The stations will be open to students, faculty, staff and the general public from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

At Okanagan College, voting will take place in the lower lounge of the S Building at 1000 KLO Road. At U-B-C Okanagan, voters can cast their ballots in the University Centre 200 Ballroom at 3272 University Way.

Voters must bring identification, with the city recommending two pieces — at least one showing a signature and another displaying their current address.

Municipal elections determine who represents residents on city council and help shape decisions on issues such as housing, transportation, recreation and local services.

Less than one-third of eligible voters cast ballots in Kelowna’s last municipal election, according to the city.

Additional voting dates, locations, candidate information and eligibility requirements are available at kelowna.ca/election.
