Local organizations mark 20 years of collaboration
Area non-profit Executive Directors, community leaders and others gathered this week to mark 20 years of the SharED Program.
SharED was launched with the intent of having local organizations working collaboratively in bi-weekly peer sessions to share resources and solve problems. In the past that has included governance and strategic planning, sustainable revenue generation, and volunteer recruitment.
“Leading a non-profit organization comes with unique operational demands, complex organizational and community needs, and significant responsibility,” Leigha Horsfield, Executive Director at Community Futures North Okanagan, said.
“For 20 years, SharED has provided local leaders with a confidential sounding board, practical toolkits, and an enduring support system. Today was an incredible opportunity to look across the room and see twenty years of shared knowledge and positive community change in action.”
