Park visitors can expect localized closures during fall bridge upgrades

Fall construction will temporarily disrupt access to a handful of areas in two Central Okanagan regional parks, while the majority of both sites remain open.
The Regional District of Central Okanagan is replacing vehicle crossings at Johns Family Nature Conservancy Regional Park and Bertram Creek Regional Park as part of infrastructure upgrades.
At Johns Family, work starts Sept. 28 with construction of a new bridge over Lebanon Creek. The project replaces the current culvert crossing and will temporarily close part of Elk Trail as well as the Chute Lake Road parking lot.
Crews will begin the Bertram Creek project Oct. 5. The vehicle bridge will be unavailable while it is being replaced, although the rest of the park will remain open.
