Fire Danger Rating Decreased
Campfire bans to be lifted on Thursday
Sep 2, 2026 | 3:02 PM
Local campfire bans are about to be extinguished.
Effective at noon on Thursday, the bans on smaller campfires on private properties in Vernon, Coldstream and Enderby will be lifted.
The end of the bans come as recent rainfall and cooler temperatures have decreased the risk of wildfires. They also align with B.C. Wildfire Service lifting the campfire bans across the Kamloops Fire Centre.
Though people can again have small campfires, they were reminded to be safe, never leave an open fire unattended, keep them contained, have water and a hand tool nearby, and fully extinguish the flames and coals before leaving the fire.
