Spot fire near Silver Star being held

A small wildfire that started in the North Okanagan over the weekend has been somewhat contained.

The B.C. Wildfire Service said lightning sparked a spot fire in the Kedelston Creek area near Silver Star on Sunday, Aug. 23.

However, the fire was deemed to be held at 90 square metres Monday morning, indicating it was “projected, based on fuel and weather conditions and resource availability, to remain within the current perimeter, control line or boundary.”
