Bradley Creek wildfire controlled, no change to evacuations

The wildfire burning in the Okanagan Indian Band lands has been contained.

The B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS) said the fire was considered Under Control Sunday, Aug. 23.

The classification indicated the fire was “not projected to spread beyond the current perimeter,” though the BCWS said there may be some flare-ups as gusting winds ignite dry fuels within the fire site. As a result, firefighting crews remained on scene patrolling the blaze and extinguishing hot spots.

The fire started July 31 and burned an estimated 2,658.1 hectares of terrain.
