West Kelowna hiring 150 workers for October election

Aug 17, 2026 | 2:00 PM

The City of West Kelowna is looking to hire about 150 people to help run this fall’s municipal election.

Applications are now open for workers who will staff advance voting on Oct. 7, 13 and 15, as well as general voting day on Oct. 17.

Election workers will help operate voting places, assist voters, issue ballots and support accessibility services throughout the election process.

Three positions are available, with daily pay ranging from $325 to $500.

Presiding election officials, who must have previous election experience, will earn $500 per day, while alternate presiding election officials will earn $400. Election officials do not need prior election experience and will be paid $325 per day.

The city says training and assignment details will be provided closer to the election.

Applications are being accepted online through the city’s website. Successful applicants will be invited to an in-person interview on Sept. 9 or 10.

The 2026 General Local Election will take place Oct. 17, with advance voting available on three days earlier in the month.
