Swim advisory
Rotary Beach water warning issued
Aug 13, 2026 | 2:50 PM
A swimming advisory is now in effect for the south portion of Rotary Beach in Kelowna.
The beach remains open, but residents are being asked to avoid swimming and other water activities until water quality improves.
“We’re asking people not to swim here until the advisory is lifted,” says Water Operations Manager Andy Weremy. “Most people would be fine, but there is that one per cent who could become ill.”
Other Kelowna beaches remain open and are safe for swimming. Water at Rotary Beach is being tested daily until results return to acceptable levels.
