West Kelowna urgent care centre extending hours due to wildfire

The West Kelowna Urgent and Primary Care Centre is opening early this week to help meet increased health-care needs in the Central Okanagan, including communities affected by the Bald Range wildfire.

The centre will open at 9:30 a.m. each day through Friday, Aug. 14, two hours earlier than its regular opening time.

The West Kelowna UPCC is located at 2484 Main St., Suite 101.

Residents needing non-emergency medical care can also access services through other urgent and primary care centres operated by Interior Health.

In the South Okanagan, non-emergency care remains available through community services, including walk-in clinics in Penticton.

Health-care providers from Summerland have also arranged to work out of Penticton clinics to help maintain access to primary care for their patients and evacuees affected by the Bald Range wildfire.

The Penticton Urgent and Primary Care Centre remains open during its regular hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 5 to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sunday and statutory holidays: noon to 6 p.m.

The Penticton UPCC is located at 437 Martin St., Suite 101.

For a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

More information about health-care supports for communities affected by the Bald Range wildfire is available through Interior Health.
