Three people arrested in Salmon Arm shooting

A shooting in Salmon Arm led to three people being arrested at a Sicamous residence.

At around 5:21 p.m. Saturday, August 8, police responded to reports of a shooting in the 300-block of Fraser Avenue NW.

The victim reportedly sought help in a nearby business while the suspects fled the scene in a white pickup truck.

The man was suffering non-life-threatening injuries and taken to hospital for treatment. Police said this was believed to have been targeted and isolated incident.

The investigation led police to a residence in Sicamous, where officers, with assistance from the Southeast District Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services, executed a search warrant and arrested three people without incident.

“This was a coordinated effort involving multiple policing units that resulted in the timely identification and arrest of the suspects,” S/Sgt. Simon Scott of the Salmon Arm RCMP stated.

“While arrests have been made, the investigation remains ongoing and further details cannot be released at this time.”

The investigation remained open as of time of publication and police asked anyone with information about this case, including dash cam or CCTV footage from the areas, contact the Salmon Arm RCMP at 250-832-6044.
