First Degree Murder

Decision in 2022 murder trial to come down Monday

May 31, 2026 | 6:00 AM

A sentence is expected to be given Monday in a murder case that has been ongoing for more than four years.

In May of 2022, the body of Wolf Ingo Beyer was found in the Six Mile Creek area.

That June, the investigation led to the arrest of Peter Visintainer, who was charged with second degree murder, though that was later amended to a charge of first degree murder.

The trial began in August 2025, but faced a number of delays including a halt in proceedings as the defence was granted time to have a third party psychiatric report investigate if the accused was suffering a mental disorder and therefore should not be considered criminally responsible for his actions.
