Gasoline prices soar in Vernon

Fuel prices spiked locally overnight.

The fuel price tracing website GasBuddy said the average price for a litre of regular gasoline in Vernon was $191.9 Tuesday, March 31.

That was up 28 cents from Monday’s average. It was also up 54 cents from the previous month and 30 cents on an annual basis.

The price for gasoline in Vernon was also just shy of the record high $2.16.9 in April of 2022.

Kelowna saw a similar spike as gas prices rose 32 cents to $1.91.9 Tuesday. That was also near the record high of $2.18.9 per litre in April, 2022.

B.C.’s average price for a litre of gasoline was $1.98.4 Tuesday, which was up only 6.5 cents from the previous day’s average, and just below the record high average price of $2.10.9 from December of 2022.
