Jul 2, 2017 | 9:43 AM
A Kamloops man has drowned in the South Thompson River.
Sergeant Darren Michels confirmed a 25-year-old man was found dead in the river at around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
The discovery was made by the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team.
RCMP say the man was attempting to get out of the water at a private dock when he fell into the river and went under Saturday afternoon.
Police are reminding the public that currents in many rivers are unusually strong for this time of year due to high water levels.
