Park Fees Going Up In Coldstream

Jun 29, 2017 | 11:44 AM

Parks and recreational fees are going up in Coldstream.

Mayor Jim Garlick says increases will average 2.6 per cent.

“Staying in line with the City of Vernon. When we did the restructuring we said what we’d do for the first few years anyway is look at keeping those fees in line with each other.”

Garlick says they are looking in more detail at some parks feeling there may be room for adjustment moving forward.

The District is also considering how to incorporate camping in parks.

A camping fee with a special permit is being considered for Lavington Park.

“Because we have a couple of dog shows that
take place out there and they have camping during that time and so what we’ve done is looked at other communities. How they manage and charge for camping.”

That wouldn’t take effect until next year.
