Vernon M-L-A Ready For Government Confidence Vote

Jun 29, 2017 | 6:07 AM

Vernon’s MLA says his party is ready to make the best of it –whatever happens at the BC Legislature today.

The Liberals are expected to face a confidence vote that could end their 16 years in power.

Eric Foster says that could lead to Lieutenant Governor Judith Guichon turning the reigns of power over to the NDP — or calling for another election.

“We’ve been talking about this for a couple of weeks, back and forth. If there’s a summer election, people are tired of elections, so I really don’t know. I think we’re all just waiting to see what happens ,” says Foster.

Foster says the Liberals are also prepared to do the best job they can if they become the opposition.

“We have no control over it what so ever, and what ever happens, we’ll make the best of it. If we have an election, we’ll get right back at it and see if we can win a few more seats. Because we did win the most seats. We won the election, we just didn’t win it by enough.”

The current situation has the Liberals with 43 MLA’s, the NDP with 41 and the Green Party with 3.
