Coldstream gets the go-ahead to demolish the log house

The District of Coldstream is moving ahead with the remainder of the demolition of the old log house on Kalavista Road.
The structure of the old house had already been knocked down, and a report from the district said the province had issued the archeological permits needed to go ahead with the removal of the foundation, weather permitting.
The report noted the gas line was removed from the property on Nov. 17 after the permit was received.
The district plans to convert the property into a new park. Exact features for the site will be discussed by Coldstream Council at a future date, though it was noted previously that plans were in the works to establish habitat and nesting grounds for painted turtles at the new park.
