Water system repair not complete, additional interruptions required
The emergency water systems repair project that required service to be interrupted for two Vernon neighbourhoods was not a complete success.
The Regional District of North Okanagan said a temporary fix to the system was completed Thursday, Nov. 10, to restore water to the properties in the South BX and East Hill areas.
However, additional work is required to fully repair the system, which will result in about 10 properties being cut off from their water again. The RDNO said the impacted residents would be notified of the outage personally. The work should be done in the afternoon of Thursday, Nov. 20.
All customers previously affected by the water outage were issued a precautionary Boil Water Notice, and asked to limit their water use to essential purposes only, such as drinking, cooking, and hygiene.
