Central Okanagan drivers handed nearly 11,000 tickets in first half of 2025
Drivers in the Central Okanagan were racking up traffic tickets at an alarming rate in the first six months of 2025, with nearly 11,000 violations recorded, according to ICBC.
Kelowna led the region with 7,812 tickets issued, followed by West Kelowna with 1,392, Lake Country at 958, and Peachland with 786.
Speeding was the most common offence, accounting for 4,974 tickets across the region. Kelowna alone had 3,277 speeding violations, while Lake Country and Peachland saw 656 and 543, respectively.
Distracted driving was also a concern, particularly in Kelowna and West Kelowna, with 1,102 and 159 tickets issued. In Lake Country, 57 drivers were cited, and Peachland had only two.
