City Staff Costs Increase $131,000
The City of Vernon spent 25.9 million dollars on wages, salaries and benefits for its staff last year.
That was up about $131,000 from the year before, according to city figures.
In its annual report, the city says it had 318 full time employees in 2016, four more than the year before.
The highest paid staff member was chief administrative officer Will Pearce who received $204,837 in salary and had expenses of $3,230 (total $208,867).
Number two was former Finance Director Kevin Bertles who received $139,978 in pay, plusĀ 11,665 in expenses for a total of $151,643.
Community Development and Infrastructure Director Kim Flick was 3rd with $141,826 in salary, $4,007 i expenses, for $145,88.
Vernon Fire Rescue Chief Keith Green was fourth at $142,426 salary, $2,685 expenses, for a total of $145,111.
Rounding out the top five was Corporate Services Director Patti Bridal at $137,022, $5,967, and $142,990.
