Thunderstorm Watch issued for the Okanagan

Environment Canada is warning of the possibility of a storm developing in the Okanagan.

The weather agency issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch on Friday, saying conditions are favourable for the development of a storm that could bring thunder and lightning, heavy rain, and gusting winds.

People are advised to seek shelter from the storm as lightning strikes can be deadly.

Heavy rain can also reduce visibility and cause water to pool on roads, and motorists are reminded to drive to conditions.
