Okanagan Lake Fluctuating

Jun 12, 2017 | 6:16 AM

Okanagan Lake may be close to peaking, but the lake isn’t ready to settle back yet.

Today’s measurement isn’t out yet, but yesterday the lake rose four millimetres from Sunday.

The Emergency Operations Centre in Kelownasays lake levels may fluctuate up and down, and ground water continue to increase for a period of time.

As this is a weather dependent event, a lake level drop for a few days may not indicate the peak has been reached.

Property owners are advised keep their flood defences in place.

Check sandbags daily and if needed, repair, replace and bolster them to ensure adequate buffer and protection in the event gusty winds challenge them.

The level of Kalamalka Lake was down 7 millimetres.
