The Regional District of North Okanagan has released its 2016 financial statement.

It includes costs the District incurred during the year along with salaries of employees and board members and their expenses.

Former Board Chair Rick Fairbairn shows expenses of over 11 thousand dollars.

Current Chair Bob Fleming says Fairbairn had important duties

“He had fairly extensive travel. He was required to go to a number of things, including the Union of BC Municipalities, along with FCM- that’s the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and then the Municipal Finance Authority.”

Expenses of all board members came in at just under 43 thousand dollars.

Board Chair Bob Fleming says there are a couple of expenditures that stand out.

“The rink for instance is the big one, the extension of Kal Tire Place and the other one that came into the program this year was the expansion, renovation of BX Swan lake firehall.”
