Changing Of Guard At City Hall
The City of Vernon is in the process of finding replacements for two long time staff members.
Manager of planning Dale Rintoul has been with the city for 45 years, and knows the history on every property, according to Mayor Akbal Mund.
“He’s basically an historian for Vernon. If you point to a property, he’ll let you know the history of the property, when it was sold, who had it. He’s a very valuable resource,” says Mund.
Rintoul will be leaving his post in July, but Mund expects to see him back doing contract work for the city in the future.
Protective Services Manager Clint Kanester will be retiring this month after 40 years with the City.
“I’ve always respected Clint. He’s a very calm individual, very respectful of everyone around him, and he’s done some great work in protective services for the city,” says Mund.
The mayor says he’s confident they can find competent replacements for the pair.
“We’ll find people who can get the job done.”
