Band Issues Urgent Need For Help

Jun 7, 2017 | 5:04 PM

One of the hardest hit local communities by flooding is the Okanagan Indian Band, with a number of residents still evacuated.

And as a result of that, the band’s emergency operations centre is in urgent need of volunteers to help with their state of emergency.

Anyone that can help out is asked to call the EOC at 250 542 7132.

Meantime, advisory signs have been posted on the Band’s waterfront on IR’s #1 and #6

They say due to a contamination event it’s recommended people and pets do not come in contact with the waterfront or water in those areas.
