Meeting On Post-Flood Plans

Jun 7, 2017 | 4:21 PM

Kal and Wood Lakes seem to be stabilizing and further flooding isn’t expected.

Properties on the south end of Kalamalka Lake were especially hard hit.

Already, there is some talk about how to handle recovery efforts and what to do with all the sandbags once the water recedes.

Lake Country Mayor James Baker says the District hopes to have some answers the end of the week.

“We’re having a meeting, an information meeting Friday at Beasley Park, the clubhouse there.”

Mayor Baker says everyone is invited and there will be representatives of various government organizations available to talk to.

“Kind of like a townhall meeting to get people out to say what we will do in terms of recovery. Who’s going to be taking sandbags, where they’re going and what’s happening.”

The meeting will get underway at 6 pm and everyone from the area is invited.
