Mar 3, 2025 | 5:34 PM

People living in a select area of Vernon’s East Hill area were advised to boil their tap water Monday.

Greater Vernon Water issued a precautionary Water Quality Advisory for properties along 24th Street between 25th and 28th Avenues following a water main break on March 3.

GVW recommended customers in the affected area bring their tap water to a roiling boil for a full minute before drinking, using to make food or drink, and brushing teeth.

It added people may see reduced water pressure, air in pipes, and/or discouloured water from the taps. In these cases, people were advised to run the taps on cold until the water turned clear.

The advisory would remain in place until sample testing showed the water was suitable for consumption.
