Vipers Lose in OT

Vipers Fall to Warriors in Overtime, Suffer First Home Ice Setback

Nov 7, 2026 | 9:52 AM

Vernon, BC:   The Vernon Vipers suffered their first home ice setback of the BCHL season Friday night, falling 4-3 in overtime to the West Kelowna Warriors at Kal Tire Place.

Max Dinneen scored his second goal of the game in overtime to lift the Warriors to victory and hand Vernon its first home loss of the campaign.

The Vipers received goals from Ben Trebicky, Tommy Karmiris and Ryan Fairbairn. Trebicky and Karmiris each added an assist, while Mason Kim finished with two helpers.

Special teams played a role in the contest, with Vernon unable to convert on four powerplay opportunities. The penalty kill was a bright spot, successfully killing off all four West Kelowna chances.

Dinneen led the Warriors with two goals, while Pavel Goryachev finished with a goal and two assists. Chaz Lentz added a goal and an assist, and Kelsen Podworyn recorded two assists.

Olivér Király made 25 saves for the Vipers, while Brady Krey stopped 21 of 24 shots to earn the victory.

The overtime loss drops Vernon to 11-4-2-0 on the season and 6-0-1 at Kal Tire Place.

The Vipers will look to bounce back Saturday night when they host the Coquitlam Express in the second game of their weekend homestand.
