Business Reopens With New Store

A downtown Vernon business that closed almost two years ago, has now reopened with a new facility.

Monashees’ new liquor store on 30th Street is on the site where they had a bar and grill until September 2015.

Manager Tanya Robinson says they are getting some positive comments.

“Everyone that walks in just says ‘wow.’ ‘Wow it’s amazing, it’s beautiful.’ It’s been very well received,” Robinson tells Kiss FM

Phase two of the project will be to take down the adjoining 30th Street Liquor store in the next few months, which will become more store space and a larger parking lot.

The store is currently a bit harder than normal to get to with nearby construction projects.

“The intersection at 30th and 30th is closed, but the roads are all open around our parking lot,” adds Robinson.
