OKIB Shore Up Lakeshore Road

The rising levels of Okanagan Lake will lead to further closures on Lakeshore Road in Vernon.

It was closed Friday as crews from the Okanangan Indian Band erected sand barriers along the beach to protect the road.

Several units at the nearby Holiday mobile home park are in danger of flooding.

The road will close again at 8 am Monday possibly until June 10th.

BC Transit bus routes will not be available on Lakeshore Road or Okanagan Landing Road near

Marshall Field during the closures.
