Over 16,000 advance votes already cast in local ridings

The provincial election has already seen a high turnout in the local ridings.

ElectionsBC. said there were almost 8,500 votes cast in the Vernon-Lumby riding between Oct. 10 and 13, with another 7,800 cast in the Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream riding.

The Vernon-Lumby riding had 35,652 registered voters as of Oct. 7, while there were 44,734 eligible votes in the Kelowna-Lake Country Coldstream riding as of that date.

ElectionsBC noted the more than 16,000 local ballots were part of the 596,755 advance votes cast throughout B.C. in the first four days of advance voting.

Advance voting will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 15 and 16 at the following locations:

  • Vernon-Lumby
    • Kal Tire Place, 3445 43 Ave.
    • Peace Lutheran Church, 1204 30 Ave.
    • Whitevalley Community Centre, 2250 Shields Ave.
  • Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream
    • Coldstream Community Hall, 9909 Kalamalka Rd.
    • Rutland Centennial Hall, 215 Shepherd Rd.
    • Winfield Memorial Hall, 10130 Bottom Wood Lake Rd.
