Update: Levels Rising on Shuswap River, New Pictures
The City of Enderby has activated a Level 1 Emergency Operations Centre due to flood risk associated with the rising levels of the Shuswap River.
River forecasts show the river continuing to rise over the course of this week.
“A level one means we’re activated and are in emergency management mode. We’re going out there and doing assessments on critical infrastructure and taking whatever protective steps are necessary, ” says Tate Bengtson, chief administrative officer for the city.
He says level one means there isn’t a major community wide impact, but there could be an imminent threat or some localized emergencies.”
