Highway Delays: Coquihalla and 97A

The Coquihalla is closed 25 km south of Merritt because of Dangerous Goods Fire/Vehicle Incident. Hazmat is on scene. Alternate route via Highways 1 and 8 (Merritt) or 3 and 97 (Kelowna).

Alternate route via Highway 1 (Kamloops). No estimated time of opening; assessment in progress. Next update at 3:00 pm.

Meanwhile on 97A there’s been a mud slide from Grindrod to Sicamous The road is reduced to single lane alternating traffic.

Motorists traveling these highways today are urged to check with Drivebc.ca for updates.
