First snow of season in forecast

Nov 1, 2023 | 10:17 AM

It looks like the Okanagan will get its first snow of the season tonight (Nov. 1).

Environment Canada says a low pressure system will move into the B.C. Interior tonight, bringing up to 9 centimetres (update) to the North Okanagan on Thursday.

“Most areas will see snow, however, warmer air aloft will also accompany the system and this will give the potential for freezing rain Thursday morning in the North Okanagan, Shuswap, Chilcotin, Cariboo, and North Thompson regions,” a special weather statement from Environment Canada said.

Kelowna is forecast to get 2 cm overnight and another 2 cm on Thursday.
