Update: Crash Causes Traffic Backups

Update: 4pm:

It was a traffic nightmare on Highway 97 for vehicles coming towards Vernon.

A pickup truck collided with a transport truck at Bailey Road in the noon hour, causing some fluid to spill.

Traffic was backed up to almost to Oyama, according to some reports, but it’s now been cleared.

RCMP have not provided any details on the crash as yet, but callers tell us transport trucks are being detoured onto Bailey and Commonage Roads, while regular vehicles are getting through the site with single lane traffic.

It’s not believed there were any serious injuries.
