Possible snowfall on Okanagan Connector

Sep 18, 2023 | 5:11 PM

Environment Canada is warning that snow may fall on the Okanagan Connector.

The weather agency said there could be two to four centimetres on the highway between Kelowna and Merritt Tuesday night (Sept. 19).

A low pressure system is moving precipitation into the southern Interior and bringing the freezing level down to 1,700 metres.

This could result in some snow falling on the highway, particularly near the Pennask Summit.

As conditions can change suddenly in the mountains and create hazards, people travelling along the highway and in higher elevations are encouraged to check road conditions at DriveBC and weather forecasts before getting behind the wheel.
