Kelowna is ready to meet the growing demand for court sports such as pickleball and tennis.

The city says there are plans for nine new pickleball and three new tennis courts in the capital budget for 2023-24.

Destination Courts for pickleball are proposed at Parkinson Recreation Park and Mission Recreation Park for tennis.

There are currently 12 pickleball courts and 26 tennis courts throughout Kelowna’s park system, plus a club-operated tennis facility at Okanagan Mission Tennis.

Kelowna residents will have the option to use a credit card to pay their property tax this year. However, customers who choose to pay by credit, will be charged a 2.3 per cent fee by the city, to offset operational costs.

Kelowna council has rescheduled a public hearing to discuss future land uses at Kelowna Springs golf course to June 20.

It was previously scheduled for June 6 but council agreed to change it at the property owner’s request.
