New ways to pay transit fees

Kelowna transit riders will soon have more ways to pay their fares.

BC Transit is launching a new electronic fare collection system, called Umo, across B.C. which will be implemented in the Kelowna Regional Transit System in late 2023.

It will allow customers to pay their fare using a mobile app, re-loadable smart card as well as credit and debit cards, and cash.

Kelowna council has asked for additional information from BC Transit on several fare impacts.
