They played good — and they looked good.

The Vernon Vipers debuted new third jerseys Friday night in a 4-1 win over the Cowichan Valley Capitals, the BC Hockey League’s last place team.

A large crowd took in the game at Kal Tire Place with attendance of 2,510 at the 3,000 seat venue.

Walker Erickson had a goal and one assist in his first game with the Vipers after being acquired from the Merritt Centennials earlier this week.

Roan Clarke made 24 saves for the win in net as the Vipers improved to 16-14-0-4 and tied with Salmon Arm for 6th place in the Interior Division.

The Vipers next play Sunday when they visit the Cranbrook Bucks for a 3 p.m. game, which will be broadcast on 107.5 Beach Radio.
