Key priorities identified for growing B.C.’s economy: Jobs minister
B.C.’s Minister of Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation said the province has plans to make investments that bolster the economy.
Minister Ravi Kahlon joined Vernon-Monashee MLA Harwinder Sandhu for a town hall hosted by the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce Wednesday.
During the town hall, Dan Proulx, chamber general manager, asked Kahlon and Sandhu questions about the economy, most of which focused on the labour force and filling job openings.
Kahlon said B.C. has returned to pre-pandemic employment levels and has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country, but there are still lots of factors getting in the way of people entering the workforce.
