Finalists named for startup investment event

Entrepreneurs from the Okanagan and Shuswap are among six startups named as finalists for the OKGN Angel Summit Finale.

The March 16 event, put on by Accelerate Okanagan, will showcase companies working on a variety of business ideas from waste reduction, to athlete-to-coach communications, and automations in cannabis production. This year, 32 investors are participating, creating a $150,000 investment fund.

The founders will make five-minute pitches to the investors as part of the finale which will also include a keynote address from Chief Clarence Louie of the Osoyoos Indian Band and a fireside chat with award-winning entrepreneurs and investors Renée Warren and Dan Martell moderated by Accelerate Okanagan’s CEO, Brea Lake.

The Summit Finale is the culmination of a 10-week program where accredited investors and startup founders are introduced to angel investing through a guided, hands-on process.
