Vaccination rates in Vernon/Coldstream continue slow climb

In the 12 to 17 demographic, Vernon/Coldstream had vaccination rates of 83 per cent for first doses and 79 per cent for second jabs. Kamloops Centre South had the highest rates for both first and second doses in that age group at 91 and 88 per cent. Enderby and Kettle Valley had the lowest rates for first doses in that demographic at 49 per cent, and Enderby had the lowest rate for second jabs at 45 per cent.

Vernon/Coldstream had vaccination rates of 82 per cent for first jabs and 78 per cent for second doses in the 18 to 49 age group. Kamloops Centre South had the highest first and second dose rates for that demographic Monday at 98 and 95 per cent. Enderby had the lowest rates in the region for both first and second doses in that age group at 65 and 60 per cent.

Vernon/Coldstream recorded vaccination rates of 91 per cent for first jabs and 89 per cent for second doses in the 50 and over age group Monday. Kamloops Centre South again had the highest rates for that age group at 94 per cent for first doses and 93 per cent for second jabs. Kettle Valley had the lowest first and second dose rates at 78 and 76 per cent.

The BCCDC also reported a third dose vaccination rate for those aged 70 and over in Vernon/Coldstream of 78 per cent. That figure is tied with Penticton for fourth highest in the Okanagan region after Kamloops Centre South and Okanagan Mission (81 per cent) and Kamloops Centre North (79 per cent). Kettle Valley had the lowest rate of people aged 70 and over who had received a booster at 60 per cent.

Regional data shows that 75 per cent of seniors aged 70 and over in the Interior had received a third dose, while the provincial rate was 76 per cent.

Looking at the Interior as a whole, Monday’s vaccination rates for people aged 12 and over was 87 per cent for first doses, 84 per cent for second jabs, and 37 per cent for third shots.

Provincially, those rates were 92 per cent for first shots, 90 per cent for second doses, and 34 per cent for third jabs.
