Vaccination rates in Vernon/Coldstream continue slow climb
The progress on vaccinating Vernon and Coldstream residents has slowed down, but it is still trending upwards.
Data from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control show that, as of Monday, Jan. 17, 43 per cent of area children had received a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. That rate is the fifth highest in the Okanagan after Okanagan Mission (57 per cent), Glenmore (51 per cent), Kamloops Centre South (50 per cent), Penticton (44 per cent).
Kettle Valley had the lowest vaccination rates for that age group at 18 per cent, followed by Enderby and Merritt (21 per cent), Armstrong/Spallumcheen (23 per cent) and Lower Thompson (24 per cent).
The centre notes that the Interior’s vaccination rates for that five to 11 age group was 38 per cent Monday, while the provincial figure was 48 per cent.
